Testing God

During the temptation Satan suggested Jesus jump off the high place on the basis that the Bible guarantees protection. He answered with:

"You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.” Luke 4:12

How many put God to the test by the way we eat and then, when our health wanes, we ask for healing?

What does God tell us about what we should eat?

In at least two places He instructs in our choice of food.

"Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you." Gen 1:29

"Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood." Gen 9:3-4

Too many point only to the first verse and succomb to vegetarianism. The early earth, following the flood, required the addition of meat to our diet to sustain health.

But, what about the rest? Analyzing these points—plants and fruit trees that bare seeds and (clean) animals (beasts, birds and fish)—are to be our food.

We have replaced basic, original, foods with stuff that is processed by corporations for profit—their benefit, not for our benefit. As a result we are malnourished, leaving our bodies without the building, or rather re-building materials found in plants.

These building materials are the minerals in soil absorbed and made organic and into vitamins by plants, eaten by animals which produce the other nutrients we require such as vitamins, proteins, and essential fatty acids not found or minimized in factory prepared convenience foods.

Want to be healthy? Obey God and stop testing him.
