Temple or Dumpster

For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; And I will be their God, and they shall be MY people." (2 Corinthians 6:16 NASB unless noted)

Paul admonished the people of Corinth by telling them that their bodies were God's Temple and that they, therefore, ought to separate themselves from those things of the world that were not in harmony with God's purposes.

I wonder how Paul would have responded to the way that the people of the body of Christ treat their bodies today. By treat, I refer to the way they eat and keep fit.

We pray for healing for various illnesses all the while eating what seems right in our own eyes (or taste buds) rather than to obey God. Could that be the reason for all our unanswered prayers?

Our Medical System can be divided under two headings—Trauma and Allopathic.

Trauma medicine involves the repair of emergencies and accidents such as broken bones, cuts, and other trauma to our bodies. Here the Medical System is very effective in helping and saving lives.

Allopathic medicine involves the treatment of disease and the breakdown of our health—an area in which the medical system has failed us terribly. Despite the millions of dollars being poured into research, we are now looking at 1 in 3 or 4 people getting cancer. Certainly, they know what causes cancer since they need to induce cancer in all the animals they use for testing. Yet they don't know how to cure it? Really? How about recommending we not do what they do to the test animals?

Are they looking for a cure or just new treatments?

Let me clarify: by they, I refer to those who set policy. Doctors are generally not permitted to devise their own plans for curing their patients since they either adhere to the "standard of care" or forfeit their licence to practise. Doctors are, for the most part, forced to parrot the thoughts and ideas of policymakers.

In any case, God gives us the recipe for health.

Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;" (Genesis 1:29)

"Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant. Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood." (Genesis 9:3-4)

Plants and animals shall be food for us. These foods came from the fields, not a box, a bag, or a can having labels describing ingredients using words with hidden or ambiguous meanings. Where 0 trans-fats means less than 500 units per whatever size serving suits them—one chip if necessary. Legalized lies.

Our world today is filled with corporations whose interest is solely on profit. A corporation cannot create wealth. Only people can do that. For a corporation to gain wealth it must acquire it from people's work/energy. Those corporations whose niche is the food industry, process food such that it is attractive to the people—it must look good, smell good, taste good, be easy, and be cheap. People work hard to find cheap food.

To look, smell, and taste "good" does not mean that it "be" good, and by that I mean nutritious.

Real "good" food is nutrient-dense (full of vitamins and minerals), alive with active enzymes and good bacteria, and fresh.

Unfortunately, these same parameters, which are beneficial to people, cause "food" to spoil quickly if not consumed soon after it was picked and/or prepared. For that reason, Corporations remove these "benefits" to give the "food" a longer shelf life. A long shelf life means more profit.

The more processed factory garbage people eat, the more the corporation profits, the more sickly the people become, and the more toxic pharmaceuticals are required to hide how they feel. When people eat cheap, factory food that is low in nutrition, they become malnourished—sick.

When we eat this profit-driven, factory "food," we are treating God's Temple like a dumpster.
