Jesus or Yeshua

Jehovah, Yahweh, YHVH, Yahuah, Jesus, Yeshua, Yehoshua, Joshua, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, Ruach Hakodesh,... names, variations, transliterations, interpretations! What name(s) does God answer to?

People seem to be increasingly assertive about being exacting and correct about using the "true" name(s). Some suggest our prayers will not be answered unless, or be more likely to be answered if, you use the proper name like it all depends on us.

While I try, with others, to be as exacting as I can in the pronunciation of their names, there seems to be more leeway granted by those who are gracious. No one is more gracious than YHVH (the Tetragrammaton of God's name in scriptures the pronunciation and exact spelling of which no one knows).

Let me add another perspective.

How many fathers answer to "dad" or mothers answer to "mom" or "mum" or some variation of these? Is it fair to suggest almost all of us? And yet there is very little confusion in a crowd of fathers or mothers since each knows the voice of their child.

Would Abba ignore my pleas, prayers, and attempts to dialogue until I use the correct name by which I address Him? I think not.

Sheep don't know their shepherd's name, they know his voice. John10:27

Is it not more important that He knows your voice and, when he responds, that we know His voice?

It's not about us getting it right, it's about Him! Everything is about Jesus!
