"O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to give you an answer concerning this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up." (Daniel 3:16-18 NASB unless noted)
We today will face an increasing demand to bow down to the secular humanism “idol” that those corporations who control governments have created.
As with the blazing furnace of Babylon, fear is still the method used to “persuade” us to bow down.
The words of Jesus must ring true in our ears:
"Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. (Matthew 10:28-31)
We will become increasingly aware of the advanced state of our loss of freedoms and rights. To live as though these rights and freedoms are still ours will undoubtedly place us at odds with those who have systematically been taking them from us.
At this point fear of penalty or prison takes us to a decision—bow down or resist.
God is well able to protect us from the repercussions of our resistance… but even if He chooses not to in our case...
